Karen serves as Senior Director, Business Development at Mindcrest, a leading alterative legal service provider. Karen’s legal career spans practice, innovation and process management. She is well known for her thought leadership in legal sales and service and was one of the first direct to market sales executives to AmLaw 100 firms, crafting client focused legal solutions. Karen has served in business development and client retention roles at Mintz Levin, DLA Piper and Burns & Levinson where she drove revenue, as well as client feedback, competitive intelligence and innovation programs. A legal services entrepreneur, Karen was part of the team that grew and sold LawCorps Legal Staffing – one of the first contract legal suppliers - and later served as a Director of Legal Solutions at Pangea3, a legal process outsourcer. In both roles, Karen managed accounts and developed projects directly with the Fortune 100 and, as a result, has keen insights project management and success. Before her career in the business of law, Karen practiced at Hale & Dorr and Crowell & Morning and was in-house counsel at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.Karen graduated from the University of Michigan with honors and obtained her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where she booked Legislation and was a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar. She clerked for the Honorable Juan R. Torruella, First Circuit. She has been quoted in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer and other publications focused on the business of law. She is the author of AttorneyMan, a comic business development guide for lawyers. She was awarded the 40 under 40 designation for her contributions to the business community.
